Can I change my order?

If your order has not yet been dispatched from our warehouse, you are able to change the order. Otherwise, you can exchange the product once received, at your own shipping cost.

**Orders placed with an Express Shipping Service, must be placed before 11:00AM AEST for same day dispatch.

How do I check my order status?

Once you have placed an order via our website you will immediately receive a confirmation email. This is automatically generated. If your package is going to a workplace, please include the business name so that it arrives promptly.

All order confirmations and shipping notifications will be sent to the email used to place the order.

Please refer to the email used to place your order as a tracking email with carrier information and an estimated arrival date will be sent once your order has shipped.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, all international orders are placed through our Australian site and shipped from our warehouse in NSW.

What Payment Methods are accepted?

Wandering Folk currently accepts Credit/Debit card, Paypal, Afterpay & Apple Pay. Currently Afterpay is set up for Australia and New Zealand only.

How can I use a Gift card or Promo Code

International shipping import fees

Please note government customs fees incurred in your country are the responsibility of the customer. 

UK customers please note that you will have to pay VAT to the delivery company either before the goods are delivered or when you collect them.

You will incur an import customs tax for goods worth more than £135 in total. We do not calculate this on our end, you can find out more here.

DO YOU SHIP UMBRELLAS OVERSEAS?

Please note we currently only ship our umbrellas within Australia. Please reach out if you're interested in shipping an umbrella overseas and we can discuss shipping fees involved.

PACKAGING & GIFTING

Will my order be plastic free?

Yes, we have made the conscious effort to protect our environment by avoiding plastic in every area we can. Your order will either come in a compostable garment bag, cardboard box or naked packaging in it’s in a compostable mailer bag.

Satchels – We have chosen our postal satchels as they are 100% compostable, ensuring environmentally ethical sourcing and production. Our satchels also hold certifications which meet the Australian standards (AS5810 and AS4736) administered by the Australasian Bioplastics Australia (ABA). In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. At home, it may take up to 120 days.

Garment bags – Don’t be fooled, these look like plastic, but they are far from it. Our garment poly bags are made from PBAT and PLA (fancy way of saying corn starch). They are also Australian certified home-compostable and industrially compostable.

Garment Tags They’re made from 100% recycled paper and are recyclable. Some people collect
their tags to include when re-selling or swapping their garments.  

Can you gift wrap my order?

Yes we can! Your item/s can be wrapped in eco brown wrapping paper and natural fibre jute ribbon. Find out more here.

Can you add a note to my order?

Yes we can. Please write in the ‘Notes section’ at checkout. This is found on the right side of the checkout page.

WHAT DOES MY RUG/THROW COME PACKAGED IN?

Our new stock comes rolled with strap attached in our new boxes, which can easily be gift wrapped.

Some older stock may come folded or rolled in a calico bag with strap attached or seperate.

WHAT SORT OF LABEL WILL BE ON MY RUG?

Our new stock features an embroidered label, with a woven car label on back. However our older stock may still feature some leather patches. If this is something you'd like to check before purchasg please let us know at hello@wanderingfolk.com

CARE

How do I clean my ‘Picnic Rug’

- Spot clean with cold water

- Do not submerge or soak

- We do not recommend machine washing, but if you do wash on a cold gentle cycle with a natural detergent and tie  your tassels up with an elastic band.

- Do not leave in direct sunlight

- Prior to storing, ensure it is completely dry

- If you have one of our older styles with a leather logo label, be aware if you fully submerge your picnic rug the dye will run onto the rug.

Will the print fade?

Over a long amount of time, your rug will most likely fade a little. To avoid this, do not leave your rug in direct sunlight all day, make sure to store your rug away once finished with it.

We have also introduced a new fabrication option to the printed top side of our rugs - 100% recycled PET canvas, that’s fade proof and water resistant. Eventually all of our rugs will transition to this new recycled PET fibre.

What is the difference between a ‘Picnic Rug’ and ‘Woven Throw’ ?

Our Picnic Rugs are made out of a durable cotton canvas, which makes them water resistant - Good for outdoor picnics. The rugs also have a beautiful print, designed by our founder Sharnee Thorpe, this makes them extra special!

Where as, our Woven Throw is made out of 100% recycled cotton, giving it a more light feel, perfect for picnics or soft furnishings. The woven patterns are also original artworks by Sharnee Thorpe.

Where are your products made?

The process begins in our headquarters here in Byron Bay, NSW. Owner Sharnee Thorpe sketches each individual print and designs the rugs with love and care. Her designs are then sent to our amazing family run factory in China who we have worked very closely with since the beginning, 9 years ago. Sharnee has visited the factory numerous times (pre-covid!) and intends on continuing our strong relationship.

Our Lovers Picnic Basket honours the traditional craft of weaving, allowing us the chance to work with artisan Women in Vietnam. Perfectly imperfect, we embrace the unique character of our handmade baskets, each with its own unique shape and imperfections.

Are your picnic rugs manufactured sustainably?

Each Picnic rug is digitally printed in one piece. Digital printing is the most sustainable way of printing, as it uses a lot less water than any other printing method. The printing method and inks plus the UPF/Waterproofing treatment are all R.E.A.C.H compliant, which means that they
do not harm you or the environment.

We have introduced a new fabrication to the printed top side of our rugs - NEW 100% recycled PET canvas that’s fade proof and water resistant. Eventually all of our rugs will transition to this new fibre.
