A long low laying table
We don't do chairs because we love sitting on our picnic rugs so much, so we chose to have a low table for our Christmas picnic. We created our own table with materials from Bunnings. We chose a beautiful piece of solid hardwood and 6 steel table legs. Its very easy and creates the perfect size table for your picnic!
Picnic rugs and cushions
To go with the Christmas theme we chose to go with our green rugs and throws. Our Native wildflower , Emerald forest picnic rugs and Peppermint throw. We layered them with our matching cushions for styling and to make sure our friends were comfortable.
Plates, cutlery and napkins
We love earthy tones, so we chose to style our table with rust colour napkins and light clay coloured plates. We then set our table with some beautiful rose gold cutlery.
Christmas picnic food
We decided to do a platter styled picnic with an array of yummy fruits such as grapes, cherries and berries. We then chose our favourite cheese, crackers and olives. For the finishing touch we added with our favourite Christmas sweets, such a rum balls, white Christmas slices and of course mince tarts!
Cocktails
Our choice of cocktail was Aperol spritz.
Ingredients
- Aperol
- Prosecco
- soda water
- drided oranges
Put a couple of cubes of ice into your glass add a 50 ml measure of Aperol. Add your desired amount of prosecco then top up with soda. Add dried orange for extra flavour.
Flowers
Fresh flowers is a beautiful way to bring more life and vibrancy to your Christmas picnic. We chose Kangaroo paw because of the lovely vibrant red, we then combined this this with lots of greenery and a touch of white flowers.
Festoon lights
The right lighting can really bring an element of magic to your picnic. We suggest festoon lights strung up over your long table or even fairy lights running along the centre on your table
Christmas tree
We chose to have a real life Christmas tree that we purchased from our local nursery. We collected some beach spinifex to decorate our tree to keep a natural earthy look :)
Though you could chose any decorations that you like, even add some more fairy lights to brighten things up!
We hope you have inspired you to create a dreamy Christmas picnic for you and your loved ones!
We are wishing you a very Merry Christmas
May your day be filled with smiles and lots of yummy food!
